IF-Piggy Twist

I'm not sure if these pigs are dancing the twist or not, but they do have twist-y tails! Pencil sketch, colored pencils, finished digitally.

This Wacom and Photoshop is still new to me, but I'm experimenting. I guess I should actually take a tutorial, but I like to explore on my own! Not very efficient, but oh well...if you know some good tutorials for VERY BEGINNING people, I mean like me who has no idea how to do anything on here, please feel free to post. :) Thanks for looking, all 8 consistently nice and helpful people! :) :) :) I do appreciate your comments! Want to point out that I tried to make the background look different than the dancing pigs, more like a coloring book picture, not detailed or shaded or anything.

Illustration Friday: Camouflage

My first thoughts were of zebras and their cool stripes, how they run together in their groups and confuse predators, but I've seen a few zebra postings on IF. Then I thought of taking the other route and drawing predators since their camouflage works in a different way; instead of using their protective coloring to hide, they use it to attack. Then I decided to go with something whimsy and here it is...a confused flamingo. :)

IF Rejection

No realistic art here! (but this is the style I had in mind when I thought of doing this) I also thought I'd attempt to draw totally with my Wacom tablet instead of drawing traditionally, scanning, then coloring. Yikes! It's not easy...

Illustration Friday-Cheerleading Suit

I did this really quick sketch with my regular old note-taking pen at a teacher leadership conference this weekend (at the Hilton! All paid for! Free room and food! Teachers RARELY get treated such ways.) :) My first thought was of a penguin in his own tuxedo, but I decided after I'd sketched a few silly looking kiddoes I would do a girl in her cheerleading "suit"...I might play with this in Photoshop later.

So this isn't really how I view paradise; that would be the photos below of our trip to Hawaii! But I don't think I'm ready to tackle that digitally! I'm still trying to get the hang of using my Wacom tablet to make cutesy bunnies and stuff.
